Short version: no accounts, no stored texts, and your history lives only in your own browser.
Text you rewrite
When you press a button such as Rewrite, Summarize or Check grammar, the text you entered is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and passed to an AI model through the Vercel AI Gateway to produce the result. We do not store your text or the result on our servers and do not use it for anything else. Nothing is sent while you type, and pages never call the AI on their own.
The word counter and the readability, diff and overlap numbers are calculated entirely in your browser.
To keep the free service fair, the server keeps a short-lived count of requests per IP address in memory. It is not written to disk and disappears within minutes.
Data saved in your browser
RewriteFast uses your browser’s local storage (not cookies) to remember:
- your last ten results, so you can reopen them from “Recent rewrites”;
- your chosen mode, change level, tone and other settings;
- the text in the word counter, so it survives a page refresh.
This data never leaves your device. You can delete it all at once:
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are useful. It does not use cookies and does not collect the text you enter in the tools.
AI output
AI-generated text can contain mistakes. Check facts, names, numbers and quotes before using a result, and follow your school’s or employer’s rules on AI tools.
