Our Commitment to Privacy

RewriteFast is built with privacy as a core principle. We believe your content is yours, and we've designed our service to minimize data collection and maximize your control.

What Data We Collect

Text Processing (Temporary)

When you submit text for rewriting, it is:

• Sent to Vercel AI Gateway (using OpenAI's GPT-5-nano model) for processing
• Processed in real-time to generate rewritten content
• NOT stored on our servers - the text is only held in memory during processing
• Automatically discarded after the response is delivered to you

Local Storage (Your Browser Only)

Your rewriting history is stored entirely in your browser using IndexedDB:

• All saved rewrites, including original and rewritten text
• Your preferences (mode selections, pinned items)
• This data never leaves your device
• You can clear this data at any time using the "Clear History" button

Analytics (Privacy-Focused)

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, which:

• Collects basic usage statistics (page views, referrers)
• Does not use cookies or track you across sites
• Does not collect personally identifiable information
• Helps us understand which features are most useful

AI Processing Disclosure

Provider: Vercel AI Gateway (OpenAI GPT-5-nano model)

What is sent: Only the text you submit for rewriting and the selected mode

Purpose: To generate paraphrased versions of your content using AI

Retention: Vercel/OpenAI may temporarily cache requests for performance, but does not use your content to train models (per OpenAI API terms)

User Control: You choose when to submit text - nothing is sent without your explicit action (clicking "Rewrite")

What We Don't Do

• No user accounts or authentication - you don't need to sign up or log in
• No server-side databases - we don't store your text on our servers
• No tracking cookies - we don't follow you around the internet
• No selling of data - we have no data to sell
• No third-party advertising networks - we don't share data with advertisers

Your Rights and Control

Clear Your History: Use the "Clear History" button to delete all locally stored rewrites

Export Your Data: Use the "Export History" feature to download your saved rewrites as JSON

Browser Controls: You can clear all site data through your browser settings

Security

All communication with our service uses HTTPS encryption. Since we don't store your content on servers, there's no centralized database that could be compromised.

Children's Privacy

Our service does not collect any personal information and is safe for users of all ages. However, we recommend parental supervision for children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top when we do. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
